Summary:
Inspect manufactured, fabricated, and repaired components and parts for conformance to specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by Management.
Examine alignment of parts and measure parts for conformance to specified dimensions utilizing traditional metrology methods and equipment (i.e., ID/OD Micrometers, Height Stands, Calipers) Performing Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection activities may include some or all of the following:
• Manual drafting to document dimensional requirements and features as found.
• Assure assembly of final product with parts list to detect missing hardware.
• Visually examine parts as applicable to work assignment.
• Verify and record production documentation
• Verifies all Quality aspects are performed in accordance with the Quality Management System Procedures, Work Instructions, forms, and Customer Specific Requirements.
Required Competencies:
• Working knowledge of manual inspection tools, required (ID/OD Micrometers, Height Stands, Calipers).
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Drawings / Blueprints, required.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as basic math, layout functions, fractions, decimals, angles, percentages and ratios.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems using critical thinking skills
• Ability to organize and manage priorities, meet deadlines, and expectations
Other Requirements
• Valid driver’s license, preferred
• Exceptional Attendance Record, required
• Successful completion of Fusion Babbitting Overhead Crane Training, required
• Successful completion of Fusion Babbitting Forklift Training, required
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
• Occasionally talk or hear
• Frequently sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls
• Frequently stand and walk
• Frequently climb ladders and stairs
• Frequently stoop, kneel, bend or crouch
• Frequently lift and/or move physical products (up to 50 lbs.)
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. These include: forklift traffic, overhead cranes,machining, airborne particles, moving of mechanical parts and moderate noise. The work is performed indoors in a shop environment.
Schedule:
• Minimum 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime and Weekends as required
