Combining centrifugal force and rapid cooling, we can ensure the new babbitt is poured free of impurities and imperfections, resulting in the highest-quality bond strength & bearing integrity as well as extended bearing life. To validate the quality of your repaired bearing, we will provide you with an Ultrasonic Bond Certificate. Process

Our centrifugal casting process involves spinning a bearing at the proper RPM to create a centrifugal force that allows molten Babbitt to be poured under pressure. The bearing is then rapidly cooled. This process ensures that the poured babbitt is free of impurities, gasses, or imperfections. We will perform dye penetrant testing and provide an ultrasonic bond certification to prove quality.

Capabilities

We employ two centrifugal spin casting machines. The larger spinner can cast a bearing with an outside diameter of 72″ and up to 7000 lbs. Our smaller spinner can cast a bearing with an outside diameter of 36″ and up to 1500lbs. The size, mass, and configuration of your bearing will determine which machine we use.
